Kyoto Daijingu

In July, the 6th of Meiji Era, or 1873, Kyoto Daijingu, or Kyoto Grand Shrine, welcomed Amaterasu-Sume-Ohkami, the ancestral deity of the Imperial Family and the tutelary deity of all Japanese, Toyouke-no-Ohkami, the guardian deity of agriculture, industry, clothing, food and housing from both Naigu & Gegu of Ise Shrine, as divisions of the shrine’s tutelary deity, and enshrined, with Izanagi-no-Ohkami, Izanami-no-Ohkami, Yahashira-no-Ohkami, Ohotokonushi-no-Kami, and Yamato-Hime-no-Mikoto.

In the 8th of Meiji Era, the main building of Kyoto Daijingu was built.

It is the dismantled and reconstructed entrance and the drawing room of Ichijo family, a member of the Imperial Family. The grace of Karahafu of the main building, or a type of cusped gable, is prominent in Japan.

An Imperial Princess of Meiji Emperor, an Imperial Prince, ministers of the Japanese cabinet, artists and intellectuals have visited Kyoto Daijingu for worships.

Nowadays, Kyoto Daijingu is very popular for not only Japanese but also people from all over the world who would like to find the healing places, or the so-called “power spots”, the locations thought to be flowing with mystical energy.
